Hamit Görele

Hamit Görele (1903 – 1980)

He was born in Görele in 1903. After completing his primary and secondary education he graduated from the Fine Arts Academy and worked in Paris at the Loht Studio. He displayed his works in Paris and Bucharest, and although he first worked as an impressionist, he is known as a constructivist because of the impact of Lhot.

He died in 1980, and was artist of the year in 1968 at the Modern Turkish Painters Exhibition. Many of his works are in private and state collections.
