ABDULKADİROĞLU, Abdulkerim

Theologian (b. 12 June 1944, Kastamonu). He attended Kastamonu Cumhuriyet Primary School (1956), Abdurrahmanpaşa High School (1962) and graduated from Ankara University, Faculty of Theology (1966). He completed his masters and doctorate degree (1979) at the same institution. After he worked as the Kastamonu Assistant Mufti (1966-67) and as an inspector (1969-82), he continued his studies in the United Kingdom.

When he returned to Türkiye, he became the manager of the Ankara National Library’s Manuscript, Rare Works and Microfilm Department (1982). After, at Gazi University, Faculty of Education, he became an associate professor (1988) and professor (1995). In this faculty, he served as the chairman of the departments of Turkish Language and Literature Education, Turkish Literature and Literature and Arabic Language Education (1984-96). From 1982, he continued his career as a lecturer in the same faculty. After the opening of Gazi University’s Institute of Social Sciences, he gave master and doctorate degree lectures.

He published his articles about Turkish literature history and classical Turkish literature in G.Ü. Gazi Eğitim Fakültesi, Türk Edebiyatı, Türk Kültürü Araştırmaları, Ankara Ü. İlâhiyat Fakültesi, Türk Kültürü, Millî Kültür, İslâmî Edebiyat, Sosyal Bilimlerde Araştırma, Erciyes, Kızılırmak, Türk Dünyası Tarih, Marmara Üniversitesi Fen-Edebiyat Fakültesi Türklük Araştırmaları, Atatürk Üniversitesi İlâhiyat Fakültesi, Journal of Turkish Studies / Türklük Bilgisi Araştırmaları, Vakıf ve Kültür, Altınoluk, Tapu ve Kadastro reviews, Gündem, Diyanet and Yeni Şafak newspapers and the in the TDV Türk İslâm Ansiklopedisi (The Turkish Foundation for Religious Affairs' Turkish Islamic Encyclopedia). His articles about Turkish folk literature and folklore were also published in Sur, Halk Kültürü Derleme-Araştırma Dergisi, MİFAD / Türk Folklor Araştırmaları, Türk Yurdu, Türk Halk Kültürü Araştırmaları, Millî Folklor journals and his articles about other subjects in Zaman and Merhaba, in Kastamonu local newspapers and in journals such as Eğitim-Bilim ve Kültür, Cemre, Hacı Bektaş Velî, Bilge, İlmî Araştırmalar and Türk Bankası Kültür Sanat. He also made many presentations related to the same subjects at various congresses. He is member of the Professional Association of Scientific and Literary Work Owners of Türkiye, Writers Union of Türkiye, the Türkiye Education and Solidarity Foundation of Health Workers (founder member and chairman) and the Turkish Culture Research Institute.
