ALKAN, Ahmet Turan

Writer (b. 1954, Sivas). He has also written under the pen name Recai Güllaptan. After completing his primary and elementary education in Sivas, he graduated from Ankara University, Faculty of Political Sciences, Department of Administration and Politics in 1978. He worked for the local press in Sivas for three years. He has helped in the publication of some reviews.

After being self-employed for three years, he entered Cumhuriyet University in 1985. He completed his postgraduate education in 1987 and received his doctorate degree in 1991. He became an assistant professor in 1993. He transferred to the Faculty of Economics and Administrative Sciences that was established in Cumhuriyet University. His articles have been published in reviews such as Türkiye Günlüğü, Tarih ve Toplum, Aktüel, Dergâh, Türk Edebiyatı and Yeni Türkiye and in the newspaper Zaman.
